The known ancestors of H. H. Shri Gurunath Maharaj was Shri Raghunath Kulkarni from Basavkalyan. A member of the family Shri Parashurampant donated his entire wealth to merchant Vedmurti Shirolkar Shastri and came to Hyderabad.
Fortunately, one early morning, Sitamai dreamt that Shri Narasimha-Saraswati gave her two dates as prasad. Unbelievably, by consuming the dates, she was blessed with a child even at the age of 60.
